About Me and Why I’m Running for Congress

I was born and raised in Covina, California, in a proud blue-collar household. My parents, Jack and Victoria Hutchinson, raised my three brothers and me to be tough, hardworking, and honest. My dad installed window coverings, and my mom worked in local factories. My parents are good people who live with integrity and taught us the same.

Growing up, I loved sports. I played baseball and football at Northview High School in Covina. In 1988, I was drafted in the 11th round by the Atlanta Braves as a catcher. Becoming a professional baseball player was a dream come true, but my career was cut short by a serious shoulder injury. The lessons, discipline, and friendships I gained on the field shaped me for life.

After baseball, I explored the entertainment industry—acting, singing, dancing, and comedy. Like many, I didn’t make it, but the experience taught me about creativity and various ways to express myself.

Later Life

Later, I transitioned into sales and marketing, selling fitness equipment, managing internet sales, and eventually working as a hearing aid specialist. In time, I found the most meaningful work of my life helping families place their aging loved ones in assisted living and memory care facilities. That experience opened my eyes to the unbearable cost of memory care and assisted living, and how these costs crushed the average American family dealing with aging loved ones.

In 2021, I moved to Laughlin, Nevada. I love living here—the desert sunsets, the people, and the peace. Nevada is an incredible place to call home, but our state needs serious improvements, especially in housing affordability and addressing water shortages.

We need new policies to adapt to changing times.

Currently, we are lagging behind many other states in key areas, including infrastructure, retraining for individuals who have lost their jobs to AI, and strengthening the role of labor unions. We need new leaders who will fight for progress. Too many politicians here in Nevada and in Washington are stagnant, self-serving, or beholden to special interests.

I’m running for Congress because we can no longer afford to be complacent. I’ve watched Donald Trump and his MAGA loyalists manufacture election lies, attack the Capitol on January 6th, and torture police officers. Furthermore, Trump and his loyalists banned trans soldiers, stripped women of their bodily rights, and divided this nation with hate and cruelty. He calls the press the enemy of the people when they don’t spread his propaganda. He’s gaslit Americans with false promises just to get elected—like “I will end the war in Ukraine on day one”—and he even ordered masked ICE agents to abduct hardworking families, including some who turned out to be U.S. citizens. He tried to end birthright citizenship and proudly took credit for overturning Roe v. Wade. Enough is enough.

We need fighters now—not the same old weak Democrats

We need fighters now—not the same old weak Democrats who retreat into their mansions and count profits from privileged insider info and secret backroom deals while regular Americans struggle. I am new blood. I’m running to restore faith in our democracy, defend individual freedom, and build a better Nevada for everyone.

My spine is forged in steel. I don't flinch, I don't fold, and I don't back down. I'm ready to fight for Nevada and take our country back from the corrupt and the cowardly.

I am ringing the alarm bell and asking all Democrats, liberals, progressives, real Republicans, independents, libertarians, and Green Party members to join me and form a powerful force to save the republic.
